Development Policy Seminar

Development Policy Seminar

BIDPA
, in partnership with EConsult Botswana, will host a seminar under the theme:
“Natural Resources and the Middle-Income Trap: Lessons for Botswana’s Second Transformation.”

The seminar provides a platform for high-level dialogue on Botswana’s policy priorities, fiscal stance, and long-term economic transformation.

With diamonds’ contribution to GDP declining from over 50% in the late 1980s to about 10% in 2024, the need to diversify and strengthen new sectors is urgent.
