Kelesego Mmolainyane

Dr. Mmolainyane is an experienced Financial Economist. Currently, she is a Research Fellow at
Botswana Institute of Development Policy Analysis (BIDPA) in the Macroeconomics and
Development Unit. Her areas of expertise are macroeconomics development policy modelling and
analysis, financial and capital markets development, financial planning and analysis as well as
accounting and econometrics. She published several journal articles and working papers. Dr.
Mmolainyane has also participated in several public financial management forums as a panellist,
discussant and a reviewer. Moreover, she is a member of the National Development Plan (NDP) 11
mid-term review reference group. Recently, she was engaged as a reviewer in the Public Expenditure
and Financial Accountability (PEFA) assessment project of the Ministry of Finance & Economic
Development (MFED). Dr Mmolainyane has 9 years cumulative as a Finance Officer and a Principal
Finance Officer at MFED. While at MFED, she was seconded to various ministries (i.e. the then
Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ministry of Lands and Housing, Administration of Justice and
Ministry of Agriculture). Dr Mmolainyane also worked at the University of Botswana (UB) as a
Finance Lecturer for 9 years. While at UB, she supervised several graduates and undergraduates
research projects. She is well experienced in data collection methods and analysis using various
statistical software packages.
