The Botswana Institute for Development Policy Analysis, (BIDPA) has published a working paper titled; Factors Influencing the Probability of Being Left Behind: A multidimensional Poverty Approach for Botswana.
According to the author, Dr Raymond Khaufelo Lekobane, for poverty to be eliminated in all its forms, it is critical to identify factors that drive it. He said understanding factors influencing the probability of being left behind has significant policy implications for effectively addressing poverty in all its forms.
The results of the study revealed that age, disability status, citizenship, sex of household head, marital status, education, employment status, household income and place of residence influence the probability of being left behind.
